Eating for Peace - part 1

Real Food - The Healthy Honeys

There are far reaching implications to the food choices we make. At first glance it may seem unlikely that this is the case. You may feel like the food you eat only affects yourself, and your body and your wallet. Not so my friend. "Our shared cultural relaity is profoundly affected by the attitudes, beliefs, and practices surrounding food. There are amazing unrecognized social, psychological and spiritual consequences to our meals that ripple through all aspects of our lives." (Will Tuttle, PhD - "The World Peace Diet")

The World Peace Diet (Audio Book)

When we eat the animals and plants of this earth they become a part of us and a part of our story and we become a part of theirs. Everytime you eat you are making a conscious decision to either do what is cheap and easy or what is right for our world and for your body. It is an ongoing process of self discovery and understanding. When you begin to question your food choices know that it is the universe's way of telling it's time to make change. Listen to the universe my friends and you will feel better. Use your wallet to cast your vote for the kind of world you want to live in instead of accepting it the way it is today.

It's not about calories or your weight. This is no fad diet - this is a lifestyle change that millions of us need to embrace for the future of our planet, our nation, our communities, our families and ourselves. I am not here to tell what to do just support you as you discover what is right for you.
We have to start connecting the dots - business won't do it!Connect what you are eating with what is required to get on the plate - this includes bribes and blackmail, abuse of animals and the land, toxic waste, marketing and sales, ingredients, how food is engineered, how grower's are treated and paid, the use of chemicals like insecticides and pesticides, how we treat the animals we eat, and what we feed them with... the list goes on.

We need to build a "web of understanding and awareness" that helps us make the connections between our individual food choices and individual, familial, communal, national and global health.

Start working on this today by making a food web. Trace your food back to it's sources for one week. It'll be hard work. When you realize how much of what you eat cannot be traced back to one farm, one animal, one plant, one field you will WANT to make changes and that's the easiest way to fix our world. When you feel inspired and impassioned the rest falls into place. Make your food web today and start discovering everything you DON'T know about where your food comes from so you can work to change this... soon! This is your homework for the week my friends. Notice I am not lecturing or telling you to beat yourself up for poor food choices. This is what you need to focus on this week - and be honest in your food web. If you can't be honest with yourself then how do you expect to be honest with anyone else? How can you expect anyone else to be forthcoming and honest with you? This is your starting point. Tune in next Monday for part 2 of Eating for Peace!

Have a happy, healthy, and healing day everyone. Y'all come back now ya hear? PEACE, Audrey

Oh, and I'd like to relieve my joint pain a bit, please, if I could...
